Comment spamming softwares are hitting bad on wordpress blogs specially even Akismet is dying to stop to them.
spam comments specially of drugs and porn are hitting back the webmasters trying it hard to have a really worth comment on the post.

I hadn’t considered OpenId as I didn’t want people to have to log into the blog to post a comment. Something I would consider, so I could automatically approve “trusted” people… like yourself!

The worst thing about the human spammers are they are everywhere. They will not help even if they post or do not. I so many “good” is seen with post spam comments to your blog so I delete it yourself.

I hear you on the spamming part. I recently setup a new blog with only one post and it has hardly been marketed. Guess what? I got over 6800 comment spam on the blog entry already. To stop automated bots from commenting on my wordpress blog, i just installed a captcha pluging that should cut down the spam
