Are you addicted to buying domain names? Do you buy names on a whim with no research and no idea what to do with them? Does acquiring a shiny new domain give you a rush? Do you rationalize your purchases by telling yourself that it’s only a few dollars and ignore the total spent on all your purchases? If you answered YES to these questions then YOU MAY BE A DOMAIN NAME ADDICT! Now that you’re out of denial lets see what we can do to put you on the road to recovery!

I recently joined the Digital Point Forums as I had heard that it was a great place for webmasters to pick up some good information. There is a ton of great info to be had, but the place is also crawling with people trying to sell you their get rich quick schemes just to make a quick buck. One of the better posts that I came across was this one that was posted to help out those who are wasting their money on worthless domain names and offered a great set of tools to use before you purchase. I’ve reworked and reworded the information and I hope you’ll find it as useful as I have:

  1. Name Newbies - If you’re totally new to the buying and selling of domains then check out this site from DN Journal
  2. Read 5 Great Domain Name Tools - To help pick out names
  3. TDnam - GoDaddy’s domain auction site, find traffic details and keep an eye on unsold domains that may drop
  4. DN Saleprice - Find out what domains with similar names and keywords have sold for
  5. DN Scoop - attempts to estimate a value for an established website or a domain name by using multiple factors
  6. Estibot - Another site estimator that uses some different factors
  7. Name Pros or Digital Point - Forums to learn more and interact with others who are interested in domain names and making money online
  8. DN Journal - Great site for articles and forums on domain names
