Yesterday I had the good fortune to speak with Russell Kaye, a professional photographer who’s work has been in National Geographic Adventure, The New York Times, Saveur, Outside, This Old House, Reader’s Digest, Men’s Journal, Outside and Gourmet. I had taken a look at Russell’s photography web page before we spoke and I was impressed with his work and wanted to share it. I’ve never been a fan of sepia toned pictures but I guess I had never seen them done as well as this because I found them to very striking. I wish I was as good at knowing when a shot will look best is black and white, sepia, or color. It seems like it would be an easy skill to acquire, but I think to do it really well you must have an excellent eye and good instincts. Take a look, I think you’ll enjoy them as much as I did. (make sure to see the viking ship shots!)
