Google Adsense for Search is an excellent tool for site owners to use when trying to leverage Google’s Adsense to make a little revenue. I noticed that my click through rate was MUCH higher for search than for content, so I started to look for ways to increase searches from my site. Since a lot of my traffic is directed to individual posts I eventually decided to add an additional search box to the end of my posts and I think that has helped and is something that I am surprised not to see on more sites.

Another way to maximize Google Adsense for Search is to take advantage of the new Top Queries functionality on the Adsense page. With this tool you can find out what people are searching for when they leave your site. This information can help give you ideas on what to write about and how you can tweak your content to what your readers want, all of which will help keep users on your site giving them more to time to notice the content based ads. Hopefully this will all lead to more ad revenue for you and a better site for your users.
